Somatic Experiencing®
Trauma Resolution Through Embodied Spiritual Wisdom
Have you experienced trauma that lives in your body? Medical procedures, abuse, chronic illness, or persistent anxiety that traditional talk therapy hasn't fully resolved?
As a Buddhist Somatic Experiencing Practitioner® (SEP™) and Transforming Touch® Practitioner, I integrate ancient contemplative practices with cutting-edge nervous system science. This combination offers a profound path to healing.
My Unique Approach to Somatic Therapy
Somatic Experiencing® recognizes that when our natural fight/flight/freeze responses to overwhelming situations are curtailed, our nervous system can become stuck in a trauma response. SE can help process and complete these responses, restoring health.
Transforming Touch® works with developmental and attachment trauma. A lack of caregiver support in our formative years can hamper nervous system development, reducing our ability to smoothly respond to challenges. Actual and intentional touch in specific areas can facilitate the repair of these early ruptures.
Both modalities help you reconnect with your body's inherent wisdom, promoting the discharge of trapped survival energy and increasing your nervous system's capacity and resilience.
My Buddhist training and meditation practice bring additional depth to this work through:
Mindful presence with whatever arises
Compassionate witnessing without judgment
Understanding impermanence—that all states pass
Sacred view of the body's inherent wisdom
In our online sessions, we will use gentle awareness, movement, breathwork, energy work, and other somatic and spiritual principles to support your systems, never requiring you to relive traumatic events. We work together, co-creating space for the self-discovery that honors both your healing process and your spiritual nature.

**One note: I am a licensed bodywork therapist, and I serve within my scope of practice. My clients are of generally sound mental health and have good support systems. If during our work together I feel you may benefit from the assistance of a licensed mental health professional, I will not hesitate to provide those referrals.
“ I have no doubt that those who attempt to transform their minds, overcome their disturbing emotions and achieve a sense of inner peace, will, over a period of time, notice a change in their mental attitudes and responses to people and events. Their minds will become more disciplined and positive. And I am sure they will find their own sense of happiness grow as they contribute to the greater happiness of others.”
